Rock Steady is a queer* owned and operated cooperative vegetable farm rooted in social justice, food access and farmer training.

*Queer for us contains and includes multitudes of identities and expressions – lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, intersex, transgender and all expressions of our gender rebel siblings, including those who identify as gender non-conforming, non-binary and two-spirit.

OUR WHY:

We believe everyone has the right to high quality produce; food access and social justice inform our business model.

We celebrate our identities, and make safer spaces for LGBTQAI+ and BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color) farmers to thrive.

We feel the urgency of our climate crisis, and strive to steward our land with sustainable, regenerative agriculture practices.

OUR CSA

Our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) feeds our local upstate neighbors as well as our New York City community. We offer weekly vegetable shares, plus egg, fruit, meat, cheese and yogurt share options from neighboring farms. Sliding scale pricing, fundraising and strong community partnerships ensure our food reaches people across all income levels and lived experiences.

FOOD ACCESS FUND

Through donor support, we provide free or subsidized produce to low-income community members, including seniors, families with young children, and people living with serious health concerns (HIV/AIDS, diabetes and cancer). If you’re able, consider making a contribution today. If you’d like to apply for a share, click below to learn more and submit a request.

PROGRAMS

Our farmer training initiatives are designed to address barriers for beginning queer, trans and BIPOC farmers, while creating new pathways to thrive.
